Our House: Ames' Nursery

Ames's room is probably one of my favorite rooms in the house because there is so much love in it. Everything in this room was bought when I was pregnant with Asher, with my firstborn, and used again and added to when I got pregnant with Ames. The color scheme all started with this little swan vase I found at my grandmother's house that no one had claimed after she passed away... long after her house had been cleaned out and put on the market. The pale blue and orange was so pretty together and it just looked like something that belonged in a nursery. I remember saying to myself that I was going to put it in my nursery if I had a boy.

The Beatrice Potter books were mine from when I was little and the cute orange lamp came from HomeGoods.

The monogram pillow was made by a sweet friend of mine who has made lots for me over the past few years. Check her out here at The Blooming Loom on Facebook. The super comfy rocker that I've spent many nights sleeping in came from Walmart.com.

The collage of artwork and pictures are just some personal pieces about Ames, or that I made specifically for Ames. My favorite are his little foot prints, the picture of me holding him in the NICU, and his monthly photos. I made his birth announcement and printed that and the little boy fishing drawing off at home. The firefly painting was one I did at one of those Wine and Canvas places. It was so much fun, but I was just excited to have a girl's night out and get some new, colorful artwork to put in the nursery in the process.

The little turtle holding the baby supplies was one of my grandmother's planters, and the mason jar lamp was a gift from her.

Drew's mom made the curtains that matched our bedding, which I ordered from polkadotpeacock.com. This is a picture of the bedding below. I actually had someone on Etsy make a matching changing pad cover from the same fabric.

I made this little mobile when I was pregnant with Asher. I wanted something unique and special. I drew the artwork above his crib as well which spells out Ames' name.

I ordered this little rack from Restoration Hardware. It has been perfect for holding little mementos from my pregnancy and first year with Ames, as well as some vintage baby shower cards from when my mom was pregnant with me

Some good memories have been made in this room, and some not so great ones too, but they are memories of my sweet boy's first year and that's what makes this room so special to me.
